Look for the gift in COVID-19. Has it helped you cut back on unnecessary expenses? Have you tightened up your business operations and got clear on your target market or found a new market? Have you stopped sweating the small stuff, yet? Have you called that old friend with whom you can’t even remember why you stopped speaking? Have you learned to appreciate little things, like going for a walk or having dinner with your family or hugging your mother or grandmother?
God’s ways are not our ways. He has allowed this global pandemic to teach us something, so we should all look for the lesson in it and stay mindful of the power we all possess to pray. I’ve selected eleven bible verses for uncertain times to help you find a different perspective on the current situation.
11 Bible Verses for Uncertain Times
Every great move of God happens because of the prayers of His people. If you want to see extreme change, then there must be extreme prayer. The power of God displayed on the earth will not exceed the prayer capacity of the people. Let us pray together that God increases our capacity for true, powerful, and skillful prayer.
I have been struggling for weeks to share with you the right words from the Bible to encourage you, but God sent others to show me the way. We are living in scary times, but what I know is that our faith must be stronger than our fear. Read these bible verses for uncertain time and find comfort in the words of the Bible. I offer no translation; as this time, God’s word is enough.
1. Isaiah 54:9-10 NIV
“To me, this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
2. Acts 17: 28 NIV
In God, I move and breathe and have my being.
3. Romans 12:2 NIV
Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
4. Philippians 4:13 NIV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
5. Isaiah 54:17 NIV
No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
6. Psalms 18:2 NIV
The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
7. Psalms 20:7 NIV
Some trust in chariots, some trust in horses. But we will remember the name of the Lord.
8. Psalms 27: 1-4 NIV
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
9. Psalm 36:7 NIV
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
10. Romans 5:5 NIV
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
11. Hebrew 10:23-25 NIV
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
One day soon, we will see each other again in person, and that will be a time to love and embrace one other. I am blessed to have some amazing prayer warriors in my life. My friends around the world are fasting and praying five times a day for the Lord to deliver us from this deadly pandemic. We must all do our part. God is ever available as a ready source of help in times of trouble. I hope these bible verses for uncertain times remind you of that. God’s love justifies our lives and fills us with hope for the future. It’s not too late to embrace God’s call on your life. There is room for all of us beneath the protective wings of the Lord.
Stay safe, and keep praying!
